Complex Integrated Pediatrics Launched October 16th

The kickoff session of Weitzman ECHO Complex Integrated Pediatrics was held on October 16, 2017. 71 providers from 44 practices sites across 12 states registered to join the first session. The faculty discussed Pediatric Trauma and provided recommendations on a patient case from El Rio Health in Arizona.

Health centers are still welcome to join the 9-month program at no cost. Register online today!

Weitman ECHO Complex Integrated Pediatrics will connect primary care medical and behavioral health providers nationally with a multidisciplinary team of specialists in complex pediatric care. Enrollment is now open, and the clinic is being offered at no cost to interested providers registering on a first-come, first-serve basis.

The Complex Integrated Pediatrics clinic will use twice-monthly videoconferencing sessions to explore a variety of topics designed to improve the quality of care and clinical outcomes for underserved children and adolescents. Specialists from Community Health Center, Inc., Connecticut Children’s Specialist Group, New England Regional Genetics Network, and guest faculty from across the U.S. will offer educational presentations on key issues and provide recommendations on challenging cases posed by participants.

The nine-month program will address topics such as: asthma management and treatment; obesity; diabetes; suicide/self-harm; autism; and cardiology.

The clinic is designed to emphasize the integration, collaboration, and shared learning between medical and behavioral health providers, reducing variations in care and disparities in behavioral health access. Participants will develop new clinical competencies and confidence with complex pediatric cases.
